Spiritual Growth

Several opportunities for spiritual growth are offered at Johnson Memorial -- more than we can list on this page! But here are a few you might want to try.

Andrew's Brothers
Andrews Brothers meets at 7:00 a.m. each Wednesday morning for a time of devotion, prayer, discussion, coffee, and fellowship. We occasionally have breakfast, too. We get our name from the brother of Simon Peter, who brought others to meet Jesus. We choose different books to use as a guide to our discussions by a variety of authors such as C.S. Lewis, Philip Yancey, John Ortberg, and the little Blue Book, “A Guide to Prayer for Ministers and other Servants.” Join us any Wednesday morning in the Andrew's Brothers' Room in the basement.

Emmaus Walks
Johnson Memorial has an Emmaus community of approximately 30 members. The Walk to Emmaus, a three-day experience, takes a New Testament look at Christianity as a lifestyle. The highly structured weekend is designed to strengthen and invigorate the faith of Christian people and, through them, their families, their congregations, and the world in which they live. Emmaus combines the efforts of laity and clergy to renew the church. Transformed by their experiences on the Walk to Emmaus, people look for ways to serve God through their local church and through the Emmaus Community.

Bible Studies
Different opportunites to learn about the Bible or to consider ways to make your faith an active part of your life are offered throughout the year. To learn more, join our mailing list.
